Our next stop was Abilene where we had a great show but not as much sight seeing.
The town of Abilene was established by cattlemen as a stock shipping point on the TX and Pacific Railways in 1881. It is home to the Dyess airforce base and the birthplace of ol Jessica Simpson herself.
One fact that I found awesome: Abilene is ranked 17th in the nation (highest in TX) for public education.
On the subject of the school system, not only is Abilene home to JSimp, but it is also home to my dear friend JPol (Julie Polnick)! Julie's dad may have had quite a bit to do with the high ranking school system as the former superintendent in Abilene.
Abilene is known to me as the one and only time I got Starbucks the whole week!
