Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philipians 4:6-7
...
Present your requests to God.
Last week, the preacher at our church was talking about the disciples asking God questions about various laws in Mark and explaining Jesus's responses.
And he asked the congregation, what one question would you ask Jesus?
Simple.
"What really happened to my dad?"
3 years ago he went missing in a plane. No trace, no explanation.
We all hypothesize and choose to believe the story that suits us.
Little things serve as reminders daily.
A small plane flies over. I go for a run. Song lyrics. My children's expressions. Black coffee.
I have to find rest in the peace of God that transcends all understanding.
Once I accept his true peace, I can rest, find joy, and be thankful, in all circumstances.
His peace will guard my heart.

I know that it seems nearly impossible to ever truly accept peace after such a tragedy, but you are such a strong, faith filled woman with a life some of us can only dream of. Know that both your Father and your father are planning great things for you. I'm so very sorry for your loss, Mary Liz and know that you are loved!
Love you ml.
