On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

3 happy cousins!

 We spent the night in San Antonio last night and received a surprise visit from Santa! Does your neighborhood do this?! My sister in law set up a time with the fire department and Santa arrives on a fire truck with lights and sirens a-blazin and a bag full of presents to hand out!

 George was timid, but definitely put in his requests with the big man.

 Charlie stayed at arm's length on his mommy's lap.

 And much to my surprise, Edward got right up on his lap, grins galore, and told Santa that he wanted a choo-choo train and a pirate telescope. 

I was literally in awe that he did so well. 

This was our first visit with Santa and it's pretty unbeatable.

On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

Two turtle doves!

Some people interpret the12 days of Christmas song in a christian light, and the "true love" is said to be God giving you various gifts. So, God gave to me my turtle dove.

 Edward and I choose to believe that marriage should not be characterized as work. 

You may think that is naive, but in our 3.5 years of marriage we have endured losses, trials, and triumphs of awesome degrees that some people may never face. And we have two little babies - that is hard work, but our marriage is not.

We appreciate one another and the freedom of self that our love allows.

why do i blog?

I am creative, but not crafty. 

I do not DIY things.

I lack skills in cooking and gardening.

I do not have an awe-inspiring story. 

I am not a professional photographer.

I cannot sew.

I am simply a mom and a wife. 

I wish I had a greater passion for something outside of my family.

I wish I had thought of TOMS shoes or the invisible children. 

I want to be inspiring.

 But for now, I blog for them. For us.

I absolutely know there are people out there that I do not want reading my blog, but I'm not going to let them run or ruin my life. 

I love this blog. It is a chronicle of time and thoughts. 

It is us.
